Our April BR407 meeting will be on 04/18/2008 at the Altamonte mall in Altamonte Springs, FL which is about 15-20 minutes north of downtown Orlando.
I will be trying to put together a presentation called "modding the AT&T Tilt". It will focus on the AT&T tilt specifically, but it should apply to any modern cell phones.
We will also continue discussion on our other ongoing project about putting together a full-length hacker movie. One of our members has the tools and skills to put the movie together, but we all need to pitch in with the writing. We need to come up with interesting and intriguing scenes to include in the movie. They should be accurate and realistic hacking concepts and we will then put them all together into the overall plot. At this stage, we just need to get some good individual scenes first. Please come to the meeting prepared to brainstorm on this topic.
I usually show up around 5:15-5:30 but you do not have to come that early. We have many people who are not able to make it until after work so you are welcome to stroll in anytime that you feel like it! You may miss a few things, but you are still welcome to show up for as long as you can. There is not set schedule or timeline and people are welcome to come and go as they please.
We will also have our normal meeting content... |

Our March BR407 meeting will be on 03/21/2008 at the Altamonte mall in Altamonte Springs, FL which is about 15-20 minutes north of downtown Orlando.
The meeting has been growing quickly this year and last months meeting was a very productive one. We talked about several project ideas and had some homework that we will bring to the meeting this month to follow-up on. Last month saw a good turnout and some of our regulars were not able to make it so this meeting should be even larger. If you have never attended a hacker meeting before, it is a good time to start.
One of our members will have some nice video hardware available so we might finalize some plans to begin filming a couple of our projects and may even start filming that same night.
I have a new "show and tell" item that I will bring with me (my heavily modified AT&T tilt cell phone) that we can play with. Lord Perilous will (hopefully) be bringing the new "No Tech hacking" book from Johnny Long with a reference to a presentation that I originally gave at our BR407 meeting as well as at interz0ne 5 and HOPE #6. If anyone else has anything, please bring it. Besides our ongoing projects, I encourage anyone else to bring their project ideas and let us discuss them as well.

It is once again time for our monthly BR407 meeting. The meeting will be on 02/15/2008 at the Altamonte mall in Altamonte Springs, FL which is about 15-20 minutes north of downtown Orlando.
This meeting will be a full meeting with all of our regular attendees committed to show up as well as a few of our past members who will also be returning. In addition to that, I met a few new people to the central Florida area who have also pledged to attend. We could, possibly, hit double digit attendance this month.
Because we have so many attendees, I have a few things lined up to keep things interesting. First of all, I have a couple of "show and tell" item that I will bring with me. If anyone else has anything, please bring it. We also have some project ideas to discuss. If our new attendees make it, they also have a project idea that they want to discuss with us as well. I encourage anyone else to bring their project ideas and let us discuss them as well.
We have been kicking around the idea of a hacker cruise sometime next year with several of the other Florida BinRev meetings. This will be a sort of "vacation for hackers" event, not really a hacker convention with planned activities and it will be completely informal. Not only will we have fun on the cruise itself and the ports of call, but we can also see what kind of hacking fun we can have along the way. If you are considering an interesting vacation this year, you might want to join us. We will be discussing this at the meeting this month.
